As much as new and more modern utensils appear, the peeler will always be one of the utensils that you will use the most in your kitchen. This utensil has been with us for more than 70 years and although it was originally created to peel potatoes, there are many uses that can be given to it and we no longer refer to it as a potato peeler but as a peeler in general. Fruits, vegetables, and whatever we may want.

What uses can I give to a peeler?

The most common use is to peel potatoes, that’s why our peeler has a well-marked tip, to be able to scratch and remove those pieces of potato skin that are a little sunken and do not come out with the peeler. But in general, we can use it to peel all kinds of vegetables or fruits that allow it. From a violin pumpkin, eggplant, zucchini, to a pear or an apple.

But if we go one step further, we leave you below other uses that can be very useful in the kitchen:

  1. Make potato skin chips – don’t throw away the skin! Mix it with a little salt, oil and the Kuoko ceramic tray, baked for about 18 minutes at 220ºC. You will see what a
  2. Cut your onions into slices: Once you have your peeled onion, cut it into quarters, remove the root and slide your peeler from top to
  3. Peel thicker-skinned fruits: don’t stick with apples or pears, a used peeler with a bit of play will perfectly peel a mango, a papaya, and even oranges or lemons! The latter is ideal for when you are preparing cocktails and want to add a touch of decoration with the skin of a
  4. Take your salads to another level: forget about grated or cut carrots into hard pieces, take a peeler and get very thin carrot or zucchini
  5. Cut the stem of the strawberries: we usually cut the stem of the strawberries with a knife, and usually also, we take half a strawberry with us along the Have you tried doing the same with a peeler?

Can I put the peeler in the dishwasher?

We do not recommend putting the kuoko peeler in the dishwasher. On the one hand, its handle is made of natural wood, so it will end up deteriorating in the dishwasher. And, on the other hand, and more importantly, the dishwasher usually dulls your knives, blades, and peelers. Wash it by hand and you will see how the peeler and its blade will last much longer.
