Why are we fans of bamboo wood?
100% Sustainable
Biodegradable and good for the environment
Unlike what many of us believe, bamboo is not a tree but a grass. It is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet, so deforestation is not a problem. There are even certain species of bamboo that can grow up to 80cm a day. Isn’t it fascinating?
Strong and durable
And point.
Unlike other woods, bamboo is resistant to heat, odors, and water thanks to its low porosity. In the kitchen, minimizing moisture absorption is key to reducing bacterial growth, preventing rapid deterioration and preventing utensils from expanding and damaging over time.
Easy to clean
But don’t put it in the dishwasher!
When it comes to cleaning you will have no problem thanks to being a resistant and little porous wood. With a little hot soapy water, and drying it immediately by hand, it will be like new again.
Tip: Try rubbing the remains of a lemon on the surface of your bamboo utensils to help disinfect and kill bacteria that may be left over from food scraps.
Healthy and
toxic free
Grows without the need for pesticides
Bamboo fibers present a substance called “Bamboo Kun” that gives it anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. For this reason, it is not necessary to use pesticides for its growth, thus avoiding unnecessary toxins in our kitchen, while favoring the environment.
