It is time to open the can of worms and talk about toxics and the forever chemicals that are all around us

As the European Environment Agency rightly states, we are, every day, surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of synthetic chemicals. They are found in our clothes, food, furniture, toys, cosmetics, cleaning products, as well as, if we want to get into detail, in the big cities tap water or (polluted) air.

We are fully aware that society, as we know, would not be the same without many of these chemicals, which, truth be told, can be very useful. However, this does not take away the (not minor) fact that most of these substances can have a negative impact on our health and environment.

It is estimated that 6% of the global disease burden, including chronic diseases, cancers, and other neurological or developmental disorders, and 8% of total deaths can be directly attributed to these toxic substances. And these numbers are not decreasing.

That is the reason why our mission and objective at KUOKO is to help reduce your exposure within those areas that everyone can very easily control, and influence, like in the kitchen, through small changes. We want to help you make small and simple changes towards a more sustainable and healthy life.
